Student opportunities and activities

TAFE Programs:

EVET (Externally Delivered VET) programs provide high school students with access to vocational training courses from providers like TAFE NSW that are not offered at their school. These programs allow students in Years 9–12 to gain industry-recognised qualifications that count towards both their school certificate and a nationally recognised VET qualification

YES (Youth Engagement Strategy) programs are TAFE NSW initiatives that provide high school students with hands-on "taster" courses in vocational areas to help them explore future career paths. These free programs allow students aged 15-17 to experience a TAFE campus environment and gain foundational skills in areas like building and construction, health and wellbeing, and business administration, with a certificate of attainment upon completion.

SBAT TAFE program refers to the School-Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship program offered in conjunction with TAFE NSW.

This program allows high school students (generally in Years 10, 11, and 12) in New South Wales to begin a vocational qualification, earn a wage through part-time paid employment, and gain credit towards their Higher School Certificate (HSC), all while still at school.
